Glass America's Richmond, VA Location Is First to Receive AGRSS Validation Compliant With Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standards

RICHMOND, VA – Glass America, a leading national automobile glass repair and replacement company, is proud to announce that their service center in Richmond, Virginia is the first location in the company to be AGRSS validated (Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standards). The AGRSS validation program certifies that windshield replacement companies comply with industry standards for quality and safety.

What Is AGRSS Validation?

AGRSS Registered auto glass shops are grouped into geographical clusters, and are then chosen to be audited through a random sampling so that all clusters have the same chance of being selected. The independent AGRSS validator comes out to the location, meets with the business owners, and reviews records, storage conditions of adhesive products, and each technician’s installation methods. The technicians are checked to see if they follow proper product guidelines such as the required length of time to shake a product, how long it takes to dry and set, etc. If the center meets all of the standards, and are 100% compliant with the regulations, then they are deemed AGRSS-validated.
“The process was not as nerve-wracking as I thought it would be,” explains Randy Knowles, Auto Glass Technician at Glass America’s 6100 W. Broad Street location in Richmond. “Robbie Price is the AGRSS coordinator for the company, and he has been a big help. Following the AGRSS Standard is something that we do every day, so we were ready.”
Knowles continues, “The AGRSS validation process is important because most people don’t understand what goes into a proper windshield installation. They don’t know about the safety factors that are involved, or that windshields prevent roofs from caving in during a roll over. This validation process and this education are both very important for the entire industry.”
